There's so many cute animals to make, including a dog, a cat, a monkey, a rabbit, a pig, and a bird and the best bit is the instructions are really simple to follow and are mainly just pictures.
I went straight out and bought some socks and a pair of gloves, and made the dog from the front cover of the book and the elephant.
Meet Wendy and Marcus Woofington. They didn't turn out quite like the ones in the book, as I decided to erm 'customise' them... I gave Marcus a sort of collar/polo neck jumper as I had lots of glove left after I'd stuffed it, and Wendy ended up with an extra long and very thin truck! Still I'm pleased with how they turned out for my first attempt, think I'll have a go at the pig next.
I LOVE the polo neck jumper-look for the dog - absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteOMG - I absolutely LOVE this book - I think I must have nearly every sock creature book going. My favourite is the jowly dog in the middle of the settee - reminds me of Hector from Hectors House (you're way too young to remember that though!). You've done a brilliant job - sock creatures are all the better for a bit of personalisation. x
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I might have to buy that book now!
ReplyDeleteAs one of my favourite bloggers, I have nominated you for a SUNSHINE AWARD! Pop to my blog if you need further details! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you all :) The book is great definitely worth buying, and it's not too expensive on Amazon. I think the author has another book too called 'Happy Gloves' which looks equally good!
ReplyDeleteWell, I think Wendy and Marcus are lovely, with a bit of character to them! I think it's always best not to follow instructions to the letter, so that you create something that has your own interpretation of it. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great book, will certainly add it to my wish list - the little white dog on the front is so cute! Love your first sock creations - well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks for adding my link to Ellie's Treasures - will add your advert this evening when I get on a decent PC!
